Bringing people together means the world to me.
I've been building online and offline communities for 15 years; including scaling brand communities on social media, operating a health online community, overseeing and building online community teams, leading an online community of practice, and running professional networking events.
I support charities and non profits by providing training, coaching and advice on community building.
At Alzheimer's Society, I managed Talking Point, a peer support community for people affected by dementia for 7 years and worked on the team for 4 years prior to that.
I've managed employees and volunteers remotely, planned service and community strategy, developed policy and process, managed a software product and handled developer relations, acted as a safeguarding lead, and created and curated content to promote the service. That, plus the usual management responsibilities of leadership, juggling budgets and cross-team working with other service managers.
I have previously run a community of practice for people in the health and peer support space, and organised events for community professionals in the London area.
