Impact of Coronavirus on volunteering 🤔

General Discussion

Hey community,
Would love to get your thoughts on this – I've been seeing loads of news reports recently about how people are banding together to help out during the self-isolation period, especially in terms of supporting older people who are suddenly forced to cut off contact to avoid the risk of infection and people who are doing what they can to donate goods such as food and loo roll which is hard to come by because of panic shopping.
But on the other end of the spectrum, we're hearing many charities are having to let volunteers go and cut back on efforts that go against advice on social distancing.
How do you think volunteering is being impacted by the virus? And are there ways for people to get involved that don't require person-to-person contact? We'd love to advise the CharityJob audience on how they can still support charities without risking infection.
Thanks!
Stephanie
