Volunteer and HR manager

I know this has been covered before but I just wanted some ideas about how other charities sickness policies work. We are going from a very small to a medium sized charity and have 17 employees. We are at the stage where we need to firm up our sickness policy, the problem is that all our staff are part time and some don't work very many hours and therefore do not meet the SSP criteria. Any guidance would be gratefully appreciated.
