CharityConnect: What is the impact of the research in which charities invest?

Some charities are all about research, and we probably all know something about their impact.  Now, those who receive UK government research funding are required to report their impact so that it is reported in Researchfish  https://www.researchfish.net>.  That means that those charities themselves build a searchable, reliable and consistent track record of what they have achieved, with huge potential benefits to their impact and reputation.
For charities and third sector organisations who do research without UK research funding, they could already benefit from Researchfish methods and examples, and be able to work out how to harvest and share 'fruit' from their own research.  However, the third sector and wider community would not easily benefit from that work and have access to the results.
It seems to me that there is a strong case for a repository that parallels Researchfish for charities, the voluntary sector, not just UK organisations, that do research but without UK research funding.  Maybe there is already an initiative to achieve this end of which I am not aware.
However, surely there would be UK government R&D funding and expertise, to support the development, launch and maintenance of such an initiative that would certainly be reflected in GDP.
If you believe that this idea seems worth pursuing please contact me directly or in an answer to this post and we could convene a physical or virtual Meetup of some sort to pursue it.
