A graduate in Community Education and Communications with experience in local, regional and national development work for voluntary and public sector including youth work, youth participation, grant-making, children's work, youth / adult literacy work, volunteer befriending: recruitment / training / support, therapeutic work with vulnerable young families and early years literacy delivery / coordination locally and nationally.
As Regional Director for The Dollywood Foundation UK; I was responsible for the promotion and expansion of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to communities across the UK; enabling free age-appropriate books to be delivered to the homes of children from birth to 5.
I lost my baby boy in 2017 and decided to change gear/change career and am now working as a Fundraising Officer for SiMBA which exists to provide support to those in need following baby loss at any stage of gestation. SiMBA was founded in Scotland in 2005 but now provides Memory Boxes and other support services to families UK-wide and in Ireland.
