Recently the FSI were pleased to announce we had relaunched our fundraising qualifications which had been re-graded by the SQA. We can now deliver a Diploma and Certificate in Fundraising Practice at QCF Level 5 / SQCF Level 8 (equivalent to a Foundation Degree / HND) and an Introduction to Fundraising Practice at Level 3 (equivalent to an A Level).

These qualifications are delivered at our training courses all around the country and are followed up with practical assessments which are designed to be useful to your charity – there aren’t any exams either! They cover the essentials of fundraising (developing a strategy and a case for support) and at the higher levels cover the different fundraising specialisms of your choice.

With many charities looking to diversify their income and competition for funding increasing, dozens of individuals and charities around the country are now using these qualifications to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence in fundraising to both support their organisations and their career progression.

We will be providing profiles of a number of our learners over the course of the next year and can start by sharing the thoughts of Christine Mottley. I grasped the opportunity with both hands with the knowledge that leading sector experts – the FSI, had developed the Diploma, it was fully accredited so would provide me with professional recognition and would increase my job prospects.

Having gained the SCQF level 8 qualification I put the knowledge I had gained straight into practice and supported several local voluntary groups with their fundraising plans through the Young Foundation’s Community Can Project.   My knowledge gained around building a case for support paid off with several groups attaining Big Lottery funding.

I use the skills gained from the Diploma within my own team at Age UK Lancashire improving performance and development. I would highly recommend the Diploma with the FSI.”
