CharityConnect: Custom-built donation flow - is it worth it? How much to pay?
Hello everybody!
We are rebuilding our website at the moment and I am trying to figure out what's the best way to collect online donations.
There are 3rd party options like JustGiving, CharityCheckout, Virgin Money Giving and so on.
On the other hand, there are charities having their custom donation flows with stripe/paypal plugged in for payment processing.
Is it worth investing into your custom flow (and how much should we expect to pay for this build), or is it better to go with these ready, off-the-shelf solutions?
For the custom build, I am thinking:
  • different donation amounts with descriptions/pictures
  • gift aid
  • choosing what the money should specifically go to
  • etc...
What's better from your experience and how much should we expect to be quoted for these custom solutions? Do you have any experience?

Thanks a lot!

Tom
