First fundraising email to donors- advice needed!

Hey everyone,
I'm currently tasked with writing my first direct fundraising email for the small charity I volunteer for. I will be emailing previous donors of the charity to ask if they would be interested in starting up direct debits for the charity. Since this is my first time doing emails of this kind, does anyone have any top tips or things I should bear in mind?
