We are a very small charity that has been operating for around 10 years and we need to grow.  To do this, we would like to invest in a fundraiser who can investigate and apply for grants from trusts and foundations.  There are several sources of available grants out there but as the charity is run by volunteers that all have day jobs we just do not have the time to trawl through all the options, select those that we qualify for and work through the application process.

So we want to try investing in somebody to do this for us and see if this works.  This leads me to a few questions that I'd really appreciate input on:  What is the cost of such a person?  Where do we advertise for such a person?  Does anyone have any experience on this that they can share?
