CharityConnect: Match funding advice - Supporting frontline communities to travel to COP26
Hi,
I am part of a coalition that is organising civil society around the world to mobilise for the upcoming UN climate change talks (COP26) in November, with a climate justice focus. We are fundraising for visa support to support those who will struggle with the UKs migrant and visa system to be able to come to the talks - to ensure that frontline communities, indigenous groups, grassroots organisers and those most impacted by climate change can be present at this critical round of discussions.
We are aiming to launch a crowdfunder on 1sy July and I just thought that we should look to match fund this. So far we are looking to raise £20,000 - which will help around 200 people. But we want to be able to support far, far more than that to come to the UK.
We have potential people we could ask to match fund via one of the coalitions partner orgs. But do not have the knowledge or experience in our team to go about organising this - how do you approach people/orgs, what is the specific ask, what other logistics do we need to know?
We dont have much time - so any advice would be very very welcome :)
