Hi Everyone,
As a development officer for a small charity my role is varied somewhat. My current project is to secure some local commercial/corporate partnerships. This is an exciting new challenge but also slightly terrifying at the same time.

I’ve been able to secure a 10-minute opportunity to give a presentation at a business networking event at the end of this week. Therefore, in my effort to research (and give the impression that I know what I’m talking about), I have found some impressive stats, these include:
·       94% of customers think that businesses should do more than just make money, they should give back.
·       91% of customer think business should support their local communities
·       80% are likely to switch brands (equal in quality and price) to one that supports a charity.
However…..these stats are all from America and they vary dependent on the website you look at.
Do any of you wise and experienced charity peeps know of any research conducted that shows UK customers purchase habits with businesses that give back?
There are a lot of online American articles that share that businesses that give, result in gaining more customers, higher customer loyalty and an increase in income. Therefore, a win for the business and a win for the charity. I am hoping the UK is similar in this regard and therefore I can encourage businesses to give not only because it’s good to do, but that it is also an excellent marketing opportunity for them.
So far, I have found the Work for Good website very helpful. But if any of you can provide further guidance, links etc. I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks so much in advance. 👍

Nick 😀
