Use of Social Media Platforms in Charities

I have recently become involved with a Charity in the Bristol area and am wondering whether anyone has any experience of using and recommendations for specialist content creators to boost awareness of small charities on the various platforms that exist on social media.
Any help or recommendations would be very gratefully received.
