Hi everyone, trust you're all looking forward to the weekend.
Just wanted to share details of the Association of Chairs Beacon Programme, for Chairs and Vice Chairs of charities and non-profit organisations in England with an annual income of under £1 million.
You can find details of the programme and all the up-and-coming events here Beacon
There is usually a small charge of £20 to cover AoC costs for their workshops but the programme offers a travel bursary for organisations with an income of under £100k.Thanks to a generous grant from The National Lottery Community Fund, the online and written resources are free of charge.
As you know, the majority of UK sectors and industries have one or more professional bodies that have been established to offer advice, training, contacts to other practitioners, safeguard its members interests, and the public interest. It’s vital that the charity sector has similar bodies and the AoC is already helping Chairs/Vice Chairs in their crucial role - anyone considering taking on any non-executive role has a responsibility to research what’s involved and expected, and to ask for additional appropriate training so they can properly fulfil the role.
So don't delay in signing up to be kept informed of all developments and future opportunities to meet colleagues from the sector! Hope that you would find this another useful way to personally develop in your role, that you find it all interesting and crucially, that you enjoy it!
Kind regards,
Emma
