Is anyone else concerned that Just Giving donations can be anonymous without the donor being aware of this?

I was recently contacted by someone I knew, who wanted to increase their standing order and was shocked to discover I wasn't aware they had one. it was via Just Giving and we eventually tracked it down as one of the many anonymous ones which was a surprise to the donor who hadn't set it up intending it to be anonymous. I wonder how many of the other anonymous recurring donations that's true for.
Also I often come across one off anonymous Just Giving donations which then contain a nick name in the gift aid report that identifies the donor. When this happens I thank them and check if they knew their donation had been made anonymously and invariably - they had no idea.
I can see how it happens as its just not made clear when using Just Giving that if you tick no to "do you want to hear from the charity" that the gift will then be anonymous. You might tick no because you already get their mailings and don't want to go on the mailing twice or you don't need a receipt but not realise the charity doesn't know you are giving to them.
It worries me that this must negatively impact some donors experience of the charity and we have no control over that. I have shared my concerns with Just Giving but they didn't seem to accept it was a problem and I wondered if anyone else had the same concern?
