Hi,
I am benchmarking our current company sick pay entitlement. I know this can vary widely from organisation to organisation. We have approx 60 employees in the charity, which includes our retail team. Our company sick pay entitlement is:
Up to 6 months service: 1 week full basic pay
More than 6 months service: 1 to 6 weeks full basic pay; 7 to 12 weeks 50% basic pay; 13 to 26 weeks at discretion of charity; 27 weeks and over no entitlement
To be honest we have not used the 'at the discretion of the charity' entitlement, as what absence is more important than another to qualify for anything further? This has always felt too ambiguous. I would like to enhance this entitlement further, so would be interested to hear what other organisations do.
