Can a Chair of Trustees see a Director's job description?

John Allinson Acting Chair of Trustees at Survive_MIVA Posted 5 years ago

I would appreciate guidance on this issue: As a new Chair of Trustees, I would like to see the Director's job description - for a number of reasons, none of them threatening!
1) Am I legally required to have access to this information?
2) Is it best practice to have access to the information?
3)  If an employee is reluctant to share it, can I insist?
NB: There are only two part time employees supporting the full-time Director.
If anyone has the time to list any other documents that Chair ought to see, I'd be grateful for that too.
Many thanks in advance.
