Fundraising Wisdom #9 - Supporters

Marketing

Craig Schoolkate Digital Fundraising & Marketing Executive at Barnardo's Posted 6 months ago

Hello everybody,
Today's pearl drop of wisdom comes from a recent call I had with other charity fundraising marketers.
"Supporters are part of your team."
What if we stopped seeing supporters as 'donors who give us money' or 'fundraisers who raise money for us', and started seeing them as integral members of our team?
Almost all charities I connect with are evolving with the trend of being supporter focused.
The best way to do that is to base decisions on the mentality that every supporter is a part of our team. What would they say about what we're doing? What do they want us as a charity to do?
A simple shift in attitude towards the most important players in our charities will strengthen our relationships. And we grow bigger together.
All the best,
Craig
