Have an annual report narrative template?

Paul Pirie Head of Fundraising at RABI, helping farming people Posted 3 years ago

It's that time of year where our annual accounts are nearing completion. Does any one have a template or headings of what the pre-amble narrative should include that reflects the achievements, targets and goals achieved or not?
Need to brief someone else to draft some copy and would be helpful to have a outline template that I could adapt to suit our needs

the guidance for receipts and payments accounts includes a basic template also for the trustee annual report.

it is prepared with smaller charities in mind, so won't be a complete list of what you need, but it will get you started.
A complete list can be found from downloading the sorp , beginning paragraph 11:

You can look at other charity's annual accounts by interrogating the charity commission website: .https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/charity-search Try searching for SELFA, which we tend to hold up as a good example of what annual accounts can look like to be more funder-friendly.

Paul,
You might start by looking at similar copy from similar organisations, or organisations you admire.
Has the CC any relevant links, or NCVO? I'm sure ICAEW has, or Bayes Business School (formerly Cass).
Good luck,
Emma
