How you can contribute to the CharityConnect community

Robyn Freya Archard Former Community Manager - Your new Community Manager is Ocean King at CharityConnect Posted 7 years ago

Hello everyone,
At CharityConnect, our mission is to help charity professionals be better at their jobs. We allow you to share knowledge and ideas and to connect with other charity professionals to build meaningful relationships.
Why? Because the whole sector can be stronger when we work together.
I wanted to write an explanation of the many ways that you can contribute to the CharityConnect community and help achieve this mission. So, here goes…
Help out by answering questions
When someone asks a question on CharityConnect, sharing your answer with them is one of the most helpful ways to contribute to the community. To answer someone's question, go to the ‘reply to post’ section under their post and write your answer there.
Your answer doesn't have to be lengthy, it really depends on the type of question someone asks and the solution that you think is most appropriate.
Maybe you don’t know the definite answer but could point a professional in the right direction - a person, a website link or a suggestion. This is still a really useful contribution, and who knows, maybe this will inspire them to go in a whole new direction.
Saying thank you
If you ask a question and someone gives you a valuable response, say thank you or give their answer a ‘like’ to let them know that they helped you out. This way they are more likely to respond to other members’ questions on CharityConnect too. Happy days! 😀
Sharing ideas
Are you an expert in a particular area of the charity sector? Have you worked on a project recently and learnt some important new lessons?
By sharing your knowledge and lessons learnt with our community, you are contributing to a platform where good knowledge is easily shared across the whole of the charity sector.
Simply click 'Post' in our header to start sharing your wisdom.
Say hello and connect
We want to get to know all of you. And we want you to have the best chance to make new, meaningful connections. That's why we created this Newbie's Thread; a page for you all to say hello and tell everyone a bit more about you!
So, if you haven't already, head to the Newbie's Thread and get networking. So many amazing charity professionals have already introduced themselves - you never know who you might meet!
Spread the word
The more people in the CharityConnect community, the better it will be for us all. So, spread the word about CharityConnect with any charity professional you know! 📣
Share us on your social media, email this link to your colleagues, recommend CharityConnect the next time someone asks for your advice.
Finally… Talk to us
As you can see, there are many ways to contribute to our community. If you can think of other ways that charity professionals can get involved, leave your ideas in the comments section below.
But that’s not the only excuse to get in touch. Emma and I are always here to listen to your feedback, your ideas for CharityConnect, or just to have a chat. (We really do love to chat!)
👋 Say hello below or send me a Direct Message!
Thanks for reading!
