Hello everyone 👋
I’m Maja, co-founder of Freelancing For Good — a UK-based community of impact-driven freelancers who work with charities and mission-led organisations across different cause areas.
We’re about to launch a new community initiative and I wanted to open it up here in case it’s of interest to any charities.
In our Slack community, we have dedicated channels for different cause areas (e.g. climate change, animal welfare, mental health). To spotlight the work being done in these spaces - and to help our members learn directly from people already working in them - we’re introducing monthly cause-area channel takeovers.
The idea is intentionally simple and low-lift:
- One organisation takes over a relevant channel for one month
- Around 2 posts per week
- Posts might include an introduction to your work, a current campaign, behind-the-scenes insights, or ways people can get involved
- A written AMA / Q&A with the community
This is completely free. We don’t charge for takeovers, the aim is to support organisations doing high-impact work, while giving our members a realistic, first-hand view of what working in different cause areas looks like and how they can contribute meaningfully.
