Hi everyone! 

I just wanted to get your thoughts on awards and awards ceremonies. We work in the homelessness sector and have been asked to apply for some sector based awards. On the plus side, these can result in funding, opportunity for growth, increased recognition/networking opportunities etc. On the negative side, a lot of people working in, and benefiting from, homelessness charities have issues with the glorifying nature of award ceremonies - and the profiteering nature of making money and 'patting people on the back' as the result of something that shouldn't exist. 

Do any small organisations have policies or positions on this that could help us?
