Can two trustees remove the founder and CEO from the board of a small CIO? (Anonymous post 🤫)

Hi all,
Hopefully somebody will have an answer for me ;)
I am a trustee of a charity and we are in need for a CEO, the board have asked if I would consider becoming CEO. I know I can't hold both roles. But is there any law that prevents me from resigning from the board of trustees and taking the paid position of CEO?
