Most of our board meetings are online but we try to meet in person every four months or so since it is much more effective. Our next board meeting is in London one late afternoon next month. I'm going to book a restaurant for a meal afterwards and I would like your thoughts on how to expense it. There will be eight trustees and six members of the executive staff. The charity will pay for the executive team portion but I would like your thoughts on paying for the trustees. Three of the trustees are travelling from Scotland and Northumberland and are staying overnight. I'm sure that all of the trustees are willing to pay their personal share but if the charity paid for the meal it would be a modest acknowledgement of the significant effort the trustees make as volunteers. This would not set a precedent and the charity can afford to pay for all. Thoughts?
