Here's our latest careers interview with a charity professional - this time we spoke to Kate Oliver, senior campaigns officer at Charities Aid Foundation. Kate has worked in public affairs and policy roles since 2014, and told us how she got into this field, what experience was useful along the way, what her day to day role entails, and what skills / personal qualities it takes to make it in charity public affairs (particularly in a politically tumultuous times like the present!).

I liked her advice when it comes to learning from others:

"Find five people you admire and follow their work. And tell them that they inspire you! We are generally a sector that’s very open and we want to help people, that’s the nature of what we do. So get in touch and ask them, how are you doing things, and where are your networks?"
