Iam a Ugandan male who has worked with a number of NGOs in different capacities. I first worked with Ockenden International Uganda (OI Uganda) as Finance Officer for West Nile Regional Office based in Adjumani, International Care and Relief Uganda (ICR Uganda) as Accounts Assistant based in Mbale, The Environmental Conservation Trust of Uganda (ECOTRUST) as Grants Accountant for The ECOTRUST Secretariat based in Kampala, Need Elgon Foundation Uganda (NEFU) as Finance and Administration Manager based in Mbale, International Rescue Committee – Uganda Program (IRC- Uganda) as Finance Manager based in Kitgum, Northern Uganda and HIAS Refugee Trust of Kenya as a Regional Finance Coordinator – Africa (Uganda, Kenya and Chad), Agromax (U) Limited as Project Finance Controller (Consultancy) and currently working with War Child Holland – UGANDA as Consortium Senior Finance Officer – Consortia and Partnerships.

 

 My work experience of over 18 years has exposed me to both programme and programme support tasks. More specifically I have been involved in Strategic Planning, Strategic Financial Management, Financial Planning and Budgeting, Budgetary management and Expenditure control, Cash Management, Cash Flow Management, Procurement and Logistics Management, Human Resource Management and Administration, Grants Accounting and Management, Cash Flow Management, Selection of Partners and Sub-grantees, Organisational Capacity Assessment, Pre-Award Financial Review and Assessment of Partners and Sub-grantees, Training/Capacity building for Partners and Sub-grantees, monitoring of Sub-grantees, among others, working in collaboration and coordination with sister NGOs and Government departments and Staff supervision. I also have experience in setting up of new offices and developing systems, policies and procedures for organizations. I also have international experience working in emergency situations, conflict areas, difficult and hard to reach areas.

 

Iam organized, self-directed and a hard-working individual who derives pleasure from a job well done. I believe in team work and I trust that my communication and interpersonal skills are good.
