Hey everyone, with social distancing the order of the day, the charity I work for are encouraging people to stay motivated, healthy and creative during these periods of social isolation and limitation. With virtual challenges, social media like Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook and sites like Gofundme and Youtube's Super Chat, we're still creating revenue.

Yesterday I was made aware of a similar charity encouraging people on Facebook to raise money for them by sitting in a bath of baked beans or custard, having eating competitions, and other food related fundraising activities to be shared on social media platforms.

I think in the current climate where my neighbours have lost jobs and can't claim benefits for various reasons like being self-employed, where so many people in my community are having to rely on food banks because shelves are empty, products are limited and priority to NHS and vulnerable groups must be done to save lives, activities that waste food or don't sensibly ration food are totally inappropriate. I know these activities will get lots of likes on social media but I think it's wrong when people are dying and others are starving.

I contacted them about it and was told to mind my own business. Am I over reacting?
