Charitable company—proving charitable status

Hi all
After reviewing our options on forming a charity, we've elected to go down the charitable company route which has now been registered. We appreciate that we need to have £5k of income before we can register with the Charities Commission but we've established banking facilities and are now strategising fundraising.
I'm looking at options for organisational workflow/infrastructure/software etc but am beginning to encounter pushback from some providers with the likes of "yes we support non-profits but only true charities" (i.e. registered with CC).
Is this just part of the territory that comes with going down this route? Have others encountered same & if so were there any workarounds to satisfy providers? Any tips on bolstering up our 'charitableness' in these early stages before we can apply to CC?
