Closing down small unregistered charity and transferring funds to NPO

MARIKO HOWARD-KISHI Chair/trustee at Stay Mentally Healthy Posted 4 months ago

Hello
We are in the process of closing down our small unregistered charity, but I have a question on legality of transferring funds. We have no debts or DD outstanding and have small funds left in the bank and I wish to transfer the remaining funds (not alot left) to an existing non chartable organisation with the similar aim and cause as our charity had.
Is there someone here who can give a definitive advice regarding legality of this please? As a trustee of this small charity am I allowed to do this?
A quick response to an answer or where I can find out would be most helpful.
Thank you
Mariko
