Working in the charity sector, resources are scarce. Ironically we may be among the most worried about sustainability and our impact on the environment, but the least able to allocate resources to these concerns. We're in the process of setting up a staff-led working group that will work alongside our diversity networks to feed up to the board on the measures we would like to see in place across our services, our supply chain & our bids process, among other things.
Too much time is spent on issues like disposable cups that exhaust people's interest & take attention away from the bigger picture and the systemic changes that will have maximum impact.
How does your organisation approach this? Can you recommend affordable auditing services? How do you ensure buy-in across your organisation? What are the challenges you have faced? How can we work together to mitigate them?
