GDPR and volunteers capturing photo/video content

Hi everyone. Does anyone here work with volunteers who capture and process photos and/or videos of the general public, e.g. workshop / event attendees? If so, how do you manage this in line with GDPR? Do they use an organisationally-owned device which is stored securely on site, or their own personal devices?
