Social Scheduler content licensing

New

Liz Llewellyn Admin Manager at Cure EB Posted 10 hours ago

Hi, hoping to crowdsource a little bit of insight here!
I am reviewing updated terms for my charity's social scheduling tool, and am wondering how standard the below clause is. Appears to give license to use all of the content we share via their system. Is this to be expected across all of these tools, or should I start looking around for alternatives?
  • 5.3. License to Us. In order to allow us to operate, provide, and improve the Service and our technologies (and to develop new ones), we must obtain from you certain rights related to the Content that is covered by intellectual property rights. You hereby grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable license to use your Content for the purposes of operating, developing, and improving the Service or new technologies or services, in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Such license includes the right to reproduce, distribute, modify, prepare derivative works based upon, broadcast, communicate to the public, publicly display and perform Content. You will not be entitled to compensation for any use of Content by us under these Terms.
Thank you in advance for any and all help :)
