Thank you for taking time to read this post :)
I'm looking to start a career in public affairs and government communications in the third sector. I am fascinated by politics and various different social issues and would love to be able to use what I've learned from my degree and other skills to help vulnerable groups.
I have just graduated from Newcastle University with a 1st in Philosophy and Sociology and I have various volunteering experiences in mental health, homelessness and education. However, I'm struggling to 'get my foot in the door' and obtain interviews as I don't have much relevant work experience (in politics, administration, policy, etc).
I would really appreciate any advice you can give me for my job search - extra study, low-paid jobs to gain the relevant skills/knowledge, more volunteering ... I'm open to anything!!
