Today we had a meeting with the Managing Director of the Venue we rent a room off. He informed us that he has a project that he needs the room for. No date of the start of the "project" but basically he wants us out despite us paying , what he calls a donation towards Electricity but won't let us see the bills!, of £1000 in cash in advance to cover the whole year.
We only open 11-1 on Tuesday & Thursday, cannot store fresh food or chilled food there in the fridge overnight and no storage at all.
We have 2 other Charities to share a new retail space as we serve the same areas just different parts of the demographic.
Does anyone know of a grant or something via Birmingham City Council that could help us access a grant to pay the rental etc. ?
I know what he is doing is not strictly legal & have legal advise about this. IF we get evicted before we get rent funding then we will have to close the fridge down. Lots of people regularly use our services so not only would we close so too would the other 2 charities so 3 would close from the same area!!!!
Please if anyone has some advise we will be so grateful.
