Hello everyone, this is my first post, so here goes........For some time I've been considering leaving the corporate world (as a Purchasing / Procurement / Category Manager) for the not for profit / charity sector, however I'm not really sure how my skills can translate into not for profit roles, as there don't seem to be any jobs that mention 'procurement' as such. I've built up 20+ years of skills around contract management, negotiating to make hard savings or create added value, stakeholder & supplier relationship skills, presentation skills, managing a team, etc.
If anyone has any guidance on where / how to look, and how to get started, that would be much appreciated - when I try to run job searches with keywords I find very few matches. Do charities have procurement or contract / supplier management departments ? I'd really love to find a way in and it doesn't have to be a procurement role - just something where I can use my experience and also learn new skills as I go.
Many thanks in advance for any tips / guidance.
Jo
