Hi, we are a national charity that runs peer support groups for people that have been bereaved or impacted by suicide. All of our volunteers are over the age of 18 and were bereaved by suicide more than 2 years ago. We advertise widely for volunteers and receive a lot of 'expressions of interest' but we only get about a 10% conversion rate from those expressions of interest into actual applications.
We contact people via email initially along with a text and then try and arrange a call but I don't want to bombard potential volunteers but I'd like to convert more into applications. Any hints and tips very much appreciated.
