If a CIO trustee receives a 'no' vote during reappointment, does it mean automatic retirement?

The given CIO's constitution says that trustees can stand for reappointment at the end of the term. I am curious as to what actually happens if they do stand for reappointment but there in not a single vote from the remaining trustees at that point - is this an automatic retirement of a trustee?

Also... Is a CIO has a backlog in terms of their governance and some trustees terms ended but they stayed on - would it be recommended to count from the start of their first term to work out when they are next due for reappointment?

I.e. if someone became a trustee on 1 January 2018 for a term of 3 years, would it be assumed that they are now serving their 3rd term and are due a reappointment on 1 January 2027? Or because the governance backlog was created - could the chair run the process of reappointments sooner because of the "missed" ends of trustees's terms?
