A staff member has recently been called up for jury duty and wants to know what our policy is around pay during their time on duty. Unfortunately we have no policy in place so need to create one! I was wondering if anyone has a policy in place or knows of best practice within the charity sector when it comes to jury duty. We'd like to balance being fair to the employee with affordability for the charity if the trial drags on so any guidance would be most appreciated.
