Looking for a inspiring mentor to start my career in a food sovereignty or women's charity

A CharityConnect User Posted 5 years ago

Hi everyone!
After 7 years working in the hospitality and events industry, I’m looking to use my professional to generate positive change. This is a decision that I’ve been mulling for a while but the current crisis has inspired me to make.
My main interests are Gender and food justice/sovereignty issues.
I know it is a tricky time but I'm well up for this challenge!
I have a degree in Politics and a MA in Political Communications but I ended up working in events until now. I have organised all sorts of parties, including cooking lessons, weddings and corporate events. I have also been in charge of the sales and team management.
I have previous volunteer experience and I'm about to start volunteering in befriending services.
It'd be grand if anyone with a bit of experience in the sector could show me the ropes, I'm a lil bit lost when it comes to my transferable skills and roles.
I look forward to hearing form you 😊 !
