Hello.

I'm from the UK, where I was a medical librarian in Leeds, then moved to London and ran a project helping small charities to use tech strategically. Then went to Australia to work for a charity tech company. Came back to the UK and lived on a canal boat for a few years, while developing WordPress websites for charities.

Now I'm properly settled in France on a rural smallholding with sheep, chickens, a barn cat, and a few humans, trying to grow as much food as possible.

I'm now a consultant, training charities to use Google Ads and Analytics. Currently building a training course for Ad Grants, something of an epic project that I hope to launch in a couple of months.

I am the treasurer of a small acapella womens vocal chorus about to start on the journey of becoming a CIO. Am also the treasurer and newly appointed trustee of a larger, well established community charity that is currently considering conversion to a CIO.

I am looking forward to connecting with people who have been through this process and can help me avoid the pitfalls.

Thanks for starting this thread Ocean.

I work for a small charity in Newham, London, providing support to older people, people with dementia, and those with disabilities in Newham. My role is in digital inclusion, delivering digital life skills classes for those with few or no skills.

I discovered Charity Connect after finding my current role on Charity Job. I signed up to learn how I could be more resourceful in my role as well as share good practice & resources in a community-minded platform that focused on building relationships rather than promotional advertising and marketing.

Hoping that this platform will continue to grow as it has a lot of potential.

Ive just went through your thread and needed to commend you on your service, as i personally come across a large number of the over 50s, who are lack any digital skills, which harms their ability to use alot of valuable services open to them.
