Politics graduate struggling to get in to fundraising.

Hi everyone,
I hope I could get some help here. I graduated in July this year (International Politics) and I am really struggling to get anywhere with job applications.
I have been a call centre fundraiser for the university I have just left since October as well as volunteering in a fundraising office for a small charity for around the same time.
I have been applying for fundraising assistant roles and I'm not getting anywhere and it feels rather frustrating because I seem to fit the job descriptions (including the desirable criteria).
If anyone has advice regarding what I should do, I would be very grateful.
