Hello.  I just joined CharityConnect today.  

I'm wondering if any other charity trustees have had similar issues to the one we're having. An anonymous member of the public with an unidentifiable email address who claims to be a member of our charity, who sends us endless (and frankly pointless) letters.  More recently the letters have become a little more sinister with wide-ranging and (I can promise) completely unfounded accusations about breach of our duties as trustees.  Being completely confident in our position we have directed the person to the complaints portal of the Charity Commission and suggested s/he takes up his/her concerns that way.  But the letters continue and the trustees are starting to find them exhausting and time-consuming.

As diligent trustees we feel we have a duty politely to respond, but each response merely solicits further baseless and frankly ridiculous correspondence in return.

Would we be within our rights to stop responding to the person (or even to block him/her)?
