Struggling with Instagram growth—can anyone relate/give tips?

Hi,
I'm struggling with Instagram follower growth for my charities page. We are posting content everyday, taking advantage of the stories function, we've started to add different and relevant hashtags to our posts, we're also liking other companies/organisations posts to "get our name out there". Yet, follower growth is still very slow every month.
We are starting to think this may be an algorithm issue. Is anyone experiencing something similar, or if not does anyone have any tips on improving follower growth.
