Thoughts on joining your Chamber of Commerce?

Looking for some advice or anyone else's experience of joining their local chamber of commerce.
We are a very small international development charity and we want to try and utilise local businesses and the community to increase our supporter base and form meaningful corporate partnerships. The fee is £75 a year but I wanted to see if anyone else has used this approach before? 😀
