Advice on workstation equipment for remote workers

HR

Ruth Choat HR Manager at Bite Back 2030 Posted 1 year ago

We advertise all our new job vacancies with the option of remote or hybrid working. We expect anyone on a remote contract to attend an in person team day once a month and we pay travel costs.
I want to know what we are legally required to provide in terms of office furniture. We provide all employees with a laptop (and phone for some roles) but for remote workers can we expect them to have a suitable home set up or do we have to provide furniture for them as well?
We want to be able to continue to offer the choice of remote or hybrid working but need to balance this with our limited funds. I'm not talking about requests for reasonable adjustment as I understand our responsibilities in this respect. TIA
