Are there any implications when receiving large donations?

Trusts & Grants

Jo Stone Treasurer - Trustee (Voluntary) at The Youth Counselling Project Posted 2 years ago

Our small charity has just received a very generous one off donation which has also been gift aided.  It will fund our activities for the next year which is great.
However, as Treasurer, I am just wondering if there are any implications the charity needs to be aware of as it takes our income to double what it is normally. Specifically regarding applying for grant awards and general fund raising.
We have 4 or 5 grant applications currently pending which may or not be successful but should we continue to apply for grants for the following years?  Will funders look at our bank balance and reject us immediately?
I would be grateful for any advice. Many thanks
