I am in the beginning stages of forming a charity, and I just had a question about the trustees situation. I want to be heavily involved in all decision making, and I know that in order to do so I need to be a trustee. I do not plan on being paid in any way to begin with, and not for the foreseeable future. The only situation in which I would start to be a paid CEO would be if it became a full-time role, but in which case I would leave the board of trustees as I know that would be a conflict of interest.

Does this mean that I can be the charity founder, and also a trustee, as long as I am not being paid?
