I'm trying to create a facebook page for a charity but don't really want to link it to my personal account but I need an account in order to run a page. How have other people gotten around this? Thanks.

Hi Elizabeth,

I have created a Facebook account under a fake name and created a company page off of it. It didn't take too long and there hasn't been any problems I've come across doing this. Hope this helps :)

Log out of your facebook a/c. Go here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/?ref_type=registration_form and then when you have created the page it will allow you to create an a/c to manage that page.

I followed these instructions to setup my company page a while back, i am not sure if its actually connected to your personal account as you manage them seperatly.

I mean linking your own charity's page to an account but facebook won't let you create a profile with a fake name.

Hi Elizabeth,

You must have a Facebook account and a personal profile set up in order to create a Facebook Page, as every Page needs to have an admin in order to log in and manage the Page, or have a role on the Page. This link explains more: https://www.facebook.com/help/217671661585622/?ref=u2u

When you create a page from your personal account no one can see that you're the admin or that your personal account is associated with the page either, but if it's to stop you being inundated that isn't a work around.

As another solution, once you have a Facebook profile, there are other tools available if you'd like to keep your business info separate from your personal info. Facebook's 'Business Manager' allows you to manage all your Facebook assets in one place while keeping personal info private.

The following is a link to FB with more details about the Business Manager: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1539837386293870/?ref=u2u

You can begin to create a page here: www.facebook.com/pages/create and can also convert your profile into a page following these steps too: https://www.facebook.com/help/201994686510247?helpref=uf_permalink
Oh and nobody ever tell's you (SEO 'experts' take note) but in your links, you don't have to give out the full facebook name in the address that you type out or use either, I have a few different pages (don't think facebook is 'all that' or worth the investment in time we have made, for us!) and just direct people to and use www.fb.com/theneet.org and not www.facebook.com/theneet.org
Hope this helps, all the best
Mike
