CIC or CBS? Whats the difference? Which should i choose? please help!

Vanessa Manager Founder at unknown Posted 3 years ago

Hiya thanks in advance for any replies/help/advice:
I am mainly wondering what is the difference between a Community Benefit Society and a Community Interest Society?
Will choosing one or the other affect:
  • Funding or Grants?
  • The ability to employ staff?
  • The ability to charge for services?
  • The ability to acquire assets?
For more info, we are wanting to set up a parenting advice service, offering free services to the public, but with the ability to charge/invoice the local council or school for our services.

Any advice would be helpful, and i'll come back and answer any questions if you have any, thanks!
