Hi Everyone,

I work for a local charity and have had discussions about a partnership with an independent coffee shop. They have kindly agreed to give an amount from every hot drink sale to us. In return we would be sharing about this partnership on our website, social media pages and they would be able to advertise that each purchase is helping to raise funds for our charity. My hope is that this is the first of many small business partnerships for us.
I realise a Commercial Participator Statement needs to be created between us. Having no experience in this, I am tempted to use the services of Work for Good - www.workforgood.co.uk
They would create the Commercial Participator Statement, ensure donors meet any pledges and our charity would be advertised on their website. In return they would take a 5% cut (exc VAT) for any donations made, with additional charges dependent on payment method.
From looking at the website, it appears only national charities are using their services.
Anyhow, if your charity uses there services, what do you think of them?
Does your charity have small business partnerships and if so do you use a different service?
Any other advice as we explore this new income revenue would be greatly appreciate?
Thank you so much.

Nick

Before you use this,  have you considered contacting your local solicitor? They regularly offer pro-bono work to local charities, and it might be the start of a good partnership. Maybe consider the company that advise you on other legal matters.
Also doing it this way, means If you had queries or problems later you can speak to someone locally who might be able to help in different ways
Also solicitors are great partners for networking

Nick Thomas   we signed up with Work for Good a few months ago. Done nothing to promote it yet, but intending to this year.  We did have an artist that we found via twitter saying that he was donating profits to us... I made contact and discovered he'd found us on Work for Good. Well, we got our donation from him this week and it was £7k... so way more than we thought and certainly useful in terms of putting our name in front of a new audience, so all good so far.

Sally Barney   Thanks so much for your message Sally. That is so good to know that you were discovered on there and that your charity has benefited by £7k. That is fantastic. Thank you for sharing.
