In the last couple of years, both CAF and Charities Trust have ended their voucher schemes. They both argue that the use of vouchers has declined. But I like to be able to use vouchers. Especially at church or in the street when someone is rattling a tin., I can add my tax automatically for the charity on the spot by giving a voucher. There are many other occasions such as funerals, when I raise money for my favourite charities, answer a mailed appeal with having to bother with gift-aid forms, and give in my own time at my convenience. Both CAF and Charities Trust have shot themselves in the foot. Is there any other similar scheme. There was a Christian one giving out vouchers to use but I cannot remember its name. Does anyone know it or indeed other alternatives. Both CAF and Charities Trust claim that they have discussed the matter with Charities! I find that difficult to believe. I closed down my CAF account that I have used now for 40+ years. I keep the Charities Trust account and pay things online. But Charities Trust takes several weeks to post my monthly payment. It leaves my bank on day x but it doesn't appear in my Charities Trust account for up to a month! I would like to close my Charities Trust account and start with one that allows my former ways! Can someone advise. I have been trustees of a few charities. I find the behaviour of CAF and Charities Trust to be weird and self-defeating. What are they now for?
